- General information The budget expenditures of the Baltic Assembly in 2011 consist of the following categories: – Session of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council – Meetings of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly – Meetings of the committees and working groups of the Baltic Assembly – International cooperation – Informative activities and other events – Baltic Assembly Prizes for Literature, the Arts and Science, the Baltic Innovation Prize and celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly – Secretariat of the Baltic Assembly – Unplanned expenses The budget for 2011 consisted of membership fees from the national parliaments of the Republic of Estonia, the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Lithuania in the amount of EUR 91,

- Fund for celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly was EUR 34,

- Overview of the budget expenditures by categories 2.
- Session of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council The 30th Session of the Baltic Assembly and the 17th Baltic Council took place on 24 – 25 November 2011 in Tallinn (Estonia). During the Session of the Baltic Assembly, meetings of the BA Presidium and committees, as well as joint committee meetings, were held. Meetings with international organisations were also held. From the total amount of funds allocated for the Session and the Baltic Council, EUR 39,113 was spent. 2.
- Meetings of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly The following meetings of the Presidium took place: - Meeting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly: 13 – 14 January, Vilnius (Lithuania). - Meeting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly (in connection with the BSPC Enlarged Standing Committee): 31 January – 1 February, Brussels (Belgium). - Meeting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly (in connection with the 2nd Northern Dimension Parliamentary Forum): 21 – 23 February, Tromso (Norway). - Meeting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly: 12 – 13 May, Tallinn (Estonia). - Meeting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly, joint meeting of the Presidiums of the Baltic Assembly and the Benelux Parliament (in connection with the Session of the Benelux Parliament): 16 – 19 June, The Hague (The Netherlands). - Meeting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly: 22 – 23 September, Viljandi (Estonia). - Meeting of the Presidium of the Baltic Assembly: 15 November, Vilnius (Lithuania). From the total amount of funds allocated for the Presidium meetings, 9,207 EUR was spent. 2.
- Meetings of the committees and working groups of the Baltic Assembly The following meetings of the committees took place: - Participation of the BA Social Affairs Committee in the meeting of the BCM Task Force of Health: 13 – 14 January, Tallinn (Estonia). - Meeting of the BA Budget and Audit Committee: 10 – 11 February, Tallinn (Estonia). - Meeting of the BA Legal Affairs and Security Committee: 12 – 13 May, Tallinn (Estonia). - Meeting of the BA Social Affairs Committee: 19 – 20 May, Rīga (Latvia). - Meeting of the BA Budget and Audit Committee: 22 – 23 September, Viljandi (Estonia). - Participation of the BA Social Affairs Committee in the meeting of the BCM Task Force of Health: 7 October, Tallinn (Estonia). From the total amount of funds allocated for the meetings of committees and working groups, EUR 11,413 was spent. 2.
- International Cooperation From the total amount of funds allocated for international cooperation activities of the Baltic Assembly, EUR 59,605 was spent.

- International parliamentary seminars Two international parliamentary seminars with participation of the relevant standing committees of the national parliaments of the Baltic, Nordic, Benelux and GUAM countries, committees of the Nordic Council, Benelux Parliament and the GUAM PA, and representatives of the Baltic Council of Ministers took place: - Parliamentary seminar organised by the BA Education, Science and Culture Committee and the BA Economic Affairs, Communications and Informatics Committee: 10 – 11 February, Tallinn (Estonia); - Parliamentary seminar organised by the BA Environmental Protection and Energy Committee and the BA Economic Affairs, Communications and Informatics Committee: 2 – 3 June, Vilnius (Lithuania). From the total amount of funds allocated for the international seminars, EUR 11,716 was spent. 2.4.
- International Conference of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers The international conference of the Baltic Assembly and the Baltic Council of Ministers with participation of the relevant standing committees of the national parliaments of the Baltic, Nordic, Benelux and GUAM, countries, committees of the Nordic Council, Benelux Parliament and the GUAM PA was held on 12 – 13 May in Tallinn (Estonia). From the total amount of funds allocated for the conference, EUR 12,105 was spent. 2.4.
- Annual summit of the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council The annual summit of the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council took place on 6 – 8 December in Reykjavik (Iceland). From the total amount of funds allocated for the annual summit, EUR 3,279 was spent. 2.4.

- Cooperation with the Nordic Council The following joint events took place: - Nordic parliamentary forum: 27 – 30 April, Murmansk (Russia). - Visit of the BA Education, Science and Culture Committee and the BA Economic Affairs, Communications and Informatics Committee to the NordForsk, Nordic Energy Agency and Nordic Innovation Centre: 28 – 29 April, Oslo (Norway). - Meeting of the Secretariats of the Baltic Assembly and the Nordic Council: 5 – 7 September, Copenhagen (Denmark). - Session of the Nordic Council: 1 – 3 November, Copenhagen (Denmark). From the total amount of funds allocated for cooperation with the Nordic Council, EUR 7,022 was spent. 2.4.
- Cooperation with the Benelux Parliament The following joint events took place: - Participation of the delegation of the Benelux Parliament in the BA international conference on economy: 10 – 12 February, Tallinn (Estonia). - Meeting of the Secretariats of the Baltic Assembly and the Benelux Parliament: 28 – 30 March, Brussels (Belgium). - Participation of the delegation of the Benelux Parliament in the international conference on security organised by the BA and the Baltic Council of Ministers: 12 – 14 May, Tallinn (Estonia). - Trilateral conference of the Baltic Assembly, the Nordic Council and the Benelux Parliament : 29 September – 1 October, Luxembourg. From the total amount of funds allocated for cooperation with the Benelux Parliament, EUR 7,850 was spent. 2.4.
- Cooperation with the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and other partners within the European neighbourhood policy The following joint events took place: - Visit of the delegation of the South East European Cooperation Process: 10 – 11 February, Tallinn (Estonia). - Participation of the delegation of the GUAM PA in the international conference on security organised by the BA and the Baltic Council of Ministers: 10 – 15 May, Tallinn (Estonia). - Meeting of the delegation of the Baltic Assembly with the Azerbaijani delegation to the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly: 26 – 30 June, Baku (Azerbaijan). - International parliamentary seminar of the Baltic Assembly and the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly: 9 -12 October, Baku (Azerbaijan). From the total amount of funds allocated for cooperation with the GUAM Parliamentary Assembly and other partners within the European neighbourhood policy, EUR 8,314 was spent. 2.
- Informative activities and other events A total of EUR 23,239 was spent for the informative activities and other events, as well as the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly. 2.5.
- Baltic Assembly medals and letters of appreciation A total of 38 medals were produced. Expenses for production of the medals and folders for medals were EUR 3,

- Awarding ceremonies of the BA medals and letters of appreciation took place on 8 November in Tallinn (Estonia), on 10 November in Rīga (Latvia) and on 15 November in Vilnius (Lithuania). From the total amount of funds allocated for medals and letters of appreciation, EUR 5,016 was spent. 2.5.
- Website of the Baltic Assembly Total expenses for maintenance of the server and update of the website, as well as the improvement of the operating system for the website www.baltasam.org amounted to EUR

- Baltic Assembly basketball tournament On 22 – 24 September in Viljandi (Estonia) the basketball tournament was organised. From the total amount of funds allocated for organising the basketball tournament, EUR 6,548 was spent. 2.5.
- Baltic Assembly photo album 600 copies of the photo-album devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly were published. Total expenses for publishing the photo album amount to EUR 5,

- Baltic Assembly Prizes for Literature, the Arts and Science, the Baltic Innovation Prize, and a concert devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly The Baltic Assembly awards its prizes annually (monetary prize, certificate and statuette). In 2011, meetings of the national judging committees were held in Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia) and Vilnius ( Lithuania), and one meeting of the Joint Judging Committee was held on 13 – 14 October in Riga (Latvia). The ceremony for awarding BA Prizes and the Baltic Innovation Prize, as well as the concert devoted to the 20th anniversary of the Baltic Assembly took place on 24 November in Tallinn (Estonia).The total amount of funds spent for the BA Prizes, the Baltic Innovation Prize and the concert devoted to the 20th anniversary was EUR 72,

- Secretariat of the Baltic Assembly From the total amount of funds allocated for the Secretariat, EUR 72,932 was spent. These expenditures include salaries for the staff of the Secretariat, expenses for office equipment, rent of the premises, as well as expenses for public utilities, communications and postal services, office and travel insurance, security, and other services. 2.
- Unplanned expenses Unplanned expenses of the Baltic Assembly amounted to EUR 1,292, which include expenses related to changes in currency exchange rates and commission fees for money transfers.
