RESOLUTION REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA RESOLUTION ON RATIFICATION OF THE 1958 NEW YORK CONVENTION ON THE RECOGNITION AND ENFORCEMENT OF FOREIGN ARBITRAL AWARDS 17 January 1995 No I-760 Vilnius Pursuant to Item 16 of Article 67 of the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania and taking into consideration the 22 November 1994 Decree of the President of the Republic, the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania r e s o l v e s:
- To ratify the 1958 New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards (attached) with the following reservation in Article 1: “The Republic of Lithuania shall apply the provisions regarding arbitral awards made in the territories of the states other than the States Parties to this Convention only on the basis of reciprocity.”
- To obligate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania to deposit the instrument of ratification of the said Convention by the Republic of Lithuania with the Secretary- General of the United Nations Organization.
