THE SUPREME COUNCIL OF THE SUPREME COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA STATEMENT TO THE PARLIAMENTS OF DEMOCRATIC COUNTRIES The epoch of Bolshevism is coming to an end. The collapsing totalitarian Communist regime which from the Soviet Union ruled the annexed neighbouring countries or countries turned into satellite protectorates, leaves a gloomy criminal legacy which still poses a threat to people, nations and democracy. Bolshevism must be investigated, assessed and condemned that it might not recur in any form. The initiators and perpetrators of its crimes must be brought to trial. Convinced that this objective of lawfulness cannot be postponed, the Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania addresses the parliaments, lawyers’ organisations and public figures of other countries, with a proposal to hold in Vilnius an international trial to Bolshevism and the executors of its doctrine. For this purpose, a permanent international tribunal shall, with the consent of other countries, be set up and shall be located in Vilnius, too. The Supreme Council of the Republic of Lithuania is looking forward to the suggestions and every kind of support from the parliaments of other countries.
