SUBJECT MATTER OF THE CASES
The applications concern the irreducibility of the applicant’s life sentences, which existed prior 3 March 2023, the date on which the new reducibility of life-sentence mechanism, introduced by Law no. 2690-IX of 18 October 2022, became fully operational. They raise an issue under Article 3 of the Convention.
 
 
QUESTION TO THE PARTIES
Had there been a violation of Article 3 of the Convention on account of the applicants’ allegedly irreducible life sentence as regards the period prior to 3 March 2023 (see Medvid v. Ukraine, no. 7453/23, §§ 60-61, 10 October 2024)?
