Number 33 of 1969 IMPOSITION OF DUTIES (CONFIRMATION OF ORDERS) ACT, 1969 AN ACT TO CONFIRM CERTAIN ORDERS MADE UNDER THE IMPOSITION OF DUTIES ACT, 1957 , AND THE FINANCE ACT, 1962 . [24th December, 1969.] BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS:— Confirmation of Orders. 1.—(1) The several Orders mentioned in column (2) of the Schedule to this Act, and made under the Imposition of Duties Act, 1957 , and the Finance Act, 1962 , are hereby confirmed. (2) The particulars stated in columns (1) and (3), respectively, of the Schedule to this Act in relation to the Orders mentioned in column (2) of that Schedule are inserted solely to facilitate reference to and identification of those Orders, and, accordingly, nothing contained in the said column (1) or the said column (3) shall affect the construction or limit or control the operation of this section and column (2) of that Schedule. Short title. 2.—This Act may be cited as the Imposition of Duties (Confirmation of Orders) Act, 1969. SCHEDULE Section 1 . Amendment of the rates of duty on conifer wood, of net finished thickness 1 ½ and over, planed, but not further manufactured and on completely assembled motor cars of Canadian origin valued at £1,300 or over. S.I. No. 81 of 1968 . Imposition of Duties (No. 171) (Polyurethane Foam and Solid Fuel Stove Boilers) Order, 1968. Certain amendments of the customs duties on solid fuel stove boilers and shaped pieces of polyurethane material. S.I. No. 85 of 1968 . Imposition of Duties (No. 172) (Customs Duties and Form of Customs Tariff) Order, 1968. Empowerment of the Minister for Industry and Commerce to vary the rates of duty at which fully built-up motor vehicles may be imported by firms engaged in the motor assembly industry. S.I. No. 96 of 1968 . Imposition of Duties (No. 173) (Stockings) Order, 1968. Reduction in the minimum specific duty on stockings of silk or man-made fibres of United Kingdom origin of a value not exceeding 50 shillings per dozen pairs. S.I. No. 135 of 1968 . Third reduction in protective duties, and in protective element in revenue duties, on certain goods of United Kingdom origin in accordance with the Agreement between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the United Kingdom establishing a Free Trade Area; maintenance of the import duty preference in favour of certain Northern Ireland goods as against similar goods of United Kingdom origin; grant of a tariff concession for cellulose tape and tyre valves of Northern Ireland origin; reduction in import duties on rose bushes, certain bulbs, tubers, etc. and certain rubberised textile fabrics in accordance with commitments made by the Government in the Kennedy Round of trade negotiations under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade; increase from 2,000 to 3,000 copies in the average circulation limit for exemption from the import duty on daily newspapers; editorial changes in the form of customs tariff.
