Typical situations

Sales wants to know if it's allowed: "Can we shorten the withdrawal period in our online shop?" The AI finds Section 1829 of the Czech Civil Code and answers with a citation; the lawyer just confirms.
Reviewing a contract from the other party: the AI compares the contractual penalty clause with Section 2048 et seq. of the Czech Civil Code and with case law on disproportionality.
A new obligation: "What does the amendment to the Consumer Protection Act mean for us?" The AI retrieves the amended provisions and summarises the differences.

Why Microsoft Copilot or Claude, not a standalone legal tool

An in-house lawyer lives in Outlook, Teams and Word. A tool that sits outside these environments doesn't get used much. A proven model is a "Legal FAQ" agent available to all employees. It is instructed to answer only from the Europaius connector, always cite the relevant provision and link to the source, and refer anything concerning a specific dispute to the legal department. The agent handles recurring questions (deadlines, formal requirements, procedural steps), leaving the lawyer free for substantive work. The query log in Europaius shows what people ask most often, which can then feed into an internal handbook.

Compliance and tracking changes

The corpus contains historical versions of legislation, so you can ask the AI what a provision said before an amendment and what changed. For regular monitoring, it's worth having the AI review, once a week, the specific provisions your company's processes rely on, and report any differences. What not to put into AI

Trade secrets, employees' personal data and details of ongoing disputes should only go into AI in anonymised form, and only under a business-tier plan with training disabled. The Europaius connector only sees the search query that the AI constructs — never your documents. Even so, a query like "can employee Smith be dismissed for X" is unnecessarily specific; "dismissal for breach of duties, specifically X" is enough.

The corpus includes legislation and case law from multiple jurisdictions. Simply specify the country in your query, and the AI will use the relevant national sources.
