The title of these regulations is Fees for Air Operators’ Certificates Regulations. Title. 2. In requires - Interpretation. Amended by: Act XL of 2023. these regulations, unless the context otherwise "air operator’s certificate" has the same meaning assigned to it by the Air Navigation Act; Cap. 641. "Director" means the Director of Civil Aviation; Where any law makes references to provisions of the Air Navigation Order which were not reproduced in the Air Navigation Act, or any Act substituting the same, the matter shall be regulated by means of a regulatory instrument issued by the Director General. 3. The fees established in the Schedule shall be payable by an applicant to the Director for: (
- a)the grant of an air operator’s certificate; (
- b)the variation of an air operator’s certificate; (

FEES FOR AIR OPERATORS’ CERTIFICATES SCHEDULE (Regulation 3) 1. Charges for the issue of an Air Operator’s Certificate For the first and subsequent issues of an Air Operator’s Certificate, the applicant shall pay, depending on the maximum total weight authorised of the heaviest aircraft listed in the Air Operator’s Certificate, the following fees: Subsequent First issue of an issue of an air air operator’s operator’s certificate certificate if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised does not exceed 1,500 kg. €698.81 €349.41 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 1,500 kg but does not exceed 4,000 kg. €1,164.69 €582.34 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 4,000 kg but does not exceed 15,000 kg. €11,646.87 €5,823.43 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 15,000 kg but does not exceed 50,000 kg. €23,293.73 €11,646.87 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 50,000 kg. €46,587.47 €23,293.73 Upon making an application for the first issue of an Air Operator’s Certificate, the applicant shall pay a down-payment of 25% of the charge which shall be forfeited by the applicant if the application is withdrawn. 2 Variation of an Air Operator’s Certificate Upon making an application for the variation to an Air Operator’s Certificate, the applicant shall pay the appropriate fee in respect of every specific variation applied for as set out hereunder: 2.1 Addition of new aircraft type/s to the list of aircraft in the Air Operator’s Certificate if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised does not exceed 1,500 kg. €349.41 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 1,500 kg but does not exceed 4,000 kg €582.34 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 4,000 kg but does not exceed 15,000 kg €3,494.06 FEES FOR AIR OPERATORS’ CERTIFICATES [ S.L.218.01 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 15,000 kg but does not exceed 50,000 kg €6,988.12 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 50,000 kg. €18,634.99 2.2 Addition of aircraft type/s already in the Air Operator’s Certificate if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised does not exceed 1,500 kg. €69.88 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 1,500 kg but does not exceed 4,000 kg. €116.47 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 4,000 kg but does not exceed 15,000 kg. €232.94 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 15,000 kg but does not exceed 50,000 kg. €349.41 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 50,000 kg. €465.87 2.3. Removal of an aircraft listed in the Air Operator’s Certificate Upon making an application for the removal of an aircraft listed in the Air Operator’s Certificate, the applicant shall pay a fee of €23.29. 2.4. Changes to the area of operation specified in the Air Operator’s Certificate if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 2,268 kg but does not exceed 15,000 kg. €232.94 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 15,000 kg. €465.87 2.5 Specific operational authorisations (

Charges for the oversight of the operations of the holder of the air operator’s certificate. The Director shall charge the following oversight fee on an annual basis from the issuance of the Air Operator’s Certificate for the oversight by the Director of Civil Aviation of the operations of the holder of the Air Operator’s Certificate, depending on the maximum total weight authorised of the heaviest aircraft listed in the Air Operator’s Certificate as follows: Annual Oversight Fee if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised does not exceed 1,500 kg €349.41 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 1,500 kg but does not exceed 4,000kg €582.34 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 4,000 kg but does not exceed 15,000 kg €5,823.43 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 15,000 kg but does not exceed 50,000 kg €11,646.87 if the aircraft with the highest maximum total weight authorised exceeds 50,000 kg €23,293.73
