- The title of this Order is the Post Office Leases Order. Citation.
- In this Order: Interpretation. "the Act" means the Postal Services Act; "company" means the company called ‘MaltaPost p.l.c.’ which holds a licence under article 7 of the Act to provide the postal services under the Maltapost p.l.c. Licence (Modification) Regulations and the Postal Services (Designation of Universal Service Providers) Order. 3.
(1)The premises listed in the First and Second Schedules are premises which were, on the 1st May, 1998 held by Government under title of lease, and are still held under title of lease by Government, and used as a Post Office. Cap. 254. S.L.254.14 S.L.254.13 Schedules.
(2)The premises listed in the Third Schedule are premises owned by Government and which on the 1st May, 1998 were used as a Post Office. 4.
(1)The title of lease of the premises listed in the First Schedule which has been vested in the company as from the 1st May, 1998, shall remain so vested in the company until the 31st May, 2016 or for such time as the said company holds a licence to provide the postal services mentioned in article 8
(1)of the Act, whichever is the shorter. Duration of transfer of leases.
(2)The title of lease of the premises listed in the Second Schedule which has been vested in the company by the Government as from the 1st May, 1998 shall remain so vested in the company by the Government until the 31st May, 2018 or for such time as the said company holds a licence to provide the postal services mentioned in article 8
(1)of the Act, whichever is the shorter.
(3)The transfer of the titles of lease referred to in the preceding sub-articles may be extended for further periods up to the 31st May,
- The premises listed in the Third Schedule which have been leased to the company as from the 1st May, 1998, shall remain so leased to the company for such time as the said company holds a licence to provide the postal services mentioned in article 8
