- In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of the Institute of Earth Systems; "the Board of Studies" means the Board of Studies appointed for the course; "the cou rse" m ean s the co urse programm e leadi ng t o th e Diploma in Agriculture - Dip. Agric.; "the Diploma" means the Diploma in Agriculture - Dip. (1)The preparatory course extends over a period of one year of full-time studies and shall consist of study units to which 60 credits are assigned.
(2)The Board shall publish the programme of study for the preparatory course, drawn up in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Principal Regulations, and approved by Senate, at the commencement of each course. Subject to changes that the Board may, with the approval of Senate, be constrained to make, students are bound to follow the study-units and obtain the credits as indicated in the programme of study. Diploma course programme. Course programme. Substituted by: L.N. 124 of 2006. 6. The course shall extend over a period of one academic year of full-time study. 7.
(1)The course programme shall consist of: (
- a)taught study units to which 54 credits are assigned; and (
- b)an agricultural project in a chosen subject area leading to a project report of 5000 words on an approved topic, to which 6 credits are assigned.
(2)In any year of the course, students may not register for study-units to which more than 60 credits are assigned unless they are required to register for referred study-units in terms of regulation 54 of the Principal Regulations.
(3)The Board shall publish the programme of study for the Diploma, drawn up in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Principal Regulations, and approved by Senate, at the commencement of each course. Subject to changes that the Board may, with the approval of Senate, be constrained to make, students are bound to follow the study-units and obtain the credits as indicated in the programme of study. Classification of the award. 8. The names of students who qualify for the award of the Diploma shall be published in a list in alphabetical order classified as follows: Pass with Distinction Pass.
