L.S. 327.288 Ordinamenti għad-Diploma in Social Studies taħt il-patroċinju taċ-Ċentru ta' Studji dwar ix-Xogħol

(1)The title of these bye-laws is the Bye-Laws for the Diploma in Gender, Work and Society - Dip. GWS - under the auspices of the Centre for Labour Studies in collaboration with the Faculty for Social Wellbeing.

(2)Citation and interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of the Centre for Labour Studies; "the Board of Studies" means the Board of Studies appointed by Senate for the Course on the recommendations of the Boards of the Centre for Labour Studies and of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing; "the Certificate" means the Certificate in Gender, Work and Society - Cert. GWS; "the course" means the programme of study leading to the Diploma in Gender, Work and Society - Dip. GWS; "the Diploma" means the Diploma in Gender, Work and Society Dip. GWS; and "the Principal Regulations" means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards. S.L. 327.236 2. These bye-laws shall be commencing in October 2016 or later. Applicability. applicable for courses 3.

(1)To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall satisfy the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations of the University.

(2)Applicants admitted under regulation 6(c) of the Admissions Regulations must be in possession of qualifications and experience that would satisfy the Board of Studies, through an interview, that they have reached the academic standard required to follow the course with profit.

(3)Applicants admitted in terms of paragraph

(2)of this byelaw shall be in possession of a pass in an English language proficiency test as approved by the University before being admitted to the course, provided that applicants in possession of a Secondary Education Certificate pass at Grade 5/GCE Ordinary Level pass at Grade C or higher in English or a pass at the same standard in a comparable qualification, shall be exempted from sitting for the proficiency test. GWS - UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE CENTRE FOR LABOUR STUDIES IN COL[ S.L.327.288 LABORATION WITH THE FACULTY FOR SOCIAL WELLBEING Course duration.

1. The course shall extend over a period of two years of parttime study. Programme of study.
2. The programme of study shall comprise study-units to which a total of 60 ECTS credits are assigned. Credits.
3. Subject to changes that the Board may make, with the approval of Senate, students are bound to follow the study-units and obtain the credits as indicated in the programme of study for the course. Completion of first year of part-time study.
4. Students shall be allowed to proceed with the course if they successfully complete the first year of part-time study with an overall average mark of at least 60%. Certificate.
5. Students who successfully complete the study-units covered in the first year of the course (to which 32 ECTS credits are assigned), but who (a) do not obtain an average mark of 60% or better; or (b) opt not to continue the course; or (c) have proceeded to the second year of the course but do not successfully complete it, shall be entitled to the award of the Certificate. 6. The programme of study shall be published after approval by Senate, normally not less than eight months prior to the commencement of the course. Classification of the Award. 10.

(1)For the purpose of the classification of the Diploma, the overall evaluation of each student's performance in the course shall be based on the results obtained in each year of the course, with all credits awarded being weighted equally.

(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Diploma shall be published in a list in alphabetical order classified as follows: Passed with Distinction Passed with Merit Passed.
