(1)Applicants who satisfy the entry requirements as laid down in the bye-laws for the course shall be awarded points for their qualifications in: Selection of applicants. Substituted by: L.N. 3 of 2010; L.N. 416 of 2010. Amended by: L.N. 164 of 2012. (
- a)Maltese, English Language, Mathematics, one Science subject and the best result in two other subjects, obtained in any of the indicated levels; or (
- b)the BTEC National Diploma in Health and Social Care (Health Studies). (2)Applicants for the preparatory course leading to a Diploma in Health Science Nursing whose qualifications are obtained by the 31st August preceding the commencement of the course shall be considered first.
(3)If the maximum number of B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing students is not reached, the remaining applicants for the preparatory course leading to a Diploma in Health Science Nursing whose qualifications are obtained by the 31st August preceding the commencement of the course shall be considered after the selection of applicants for the B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Nursing is completed.
(4)Applicants for the preparatory course leading to a Diploma in Health Science Nursing whose qualifications are obtained following resits taken in the September preceding the commencement of the course shall be considered after selection of applicants in accordance with paragraph
(3)is completed. 4.
(1)Applicants who satisfy the entry requirements as laid down in the bye-laws for the course shall be awarded points for their qualifications in Maltese, English Language, Mathematics, one Science subject and the best result in two other subjects, obtained in any of the indicated levels, provided that holders of the BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies shall be considered to satisfy the entry requirements for the course if they are also in possession of SEC passes in Maltese, English Language, Mathematics and one Science subject and they shall be awarded points for the four required SEC level passes and for the BTEC National Diploma in Health Studies. (2)If applicants present more than one pass in a subject, only the best grade shall be taken into consideration. Subjects may only be offered at one level.
(3)For the purpose of selection, applicants whose q ualif icatio ns wer e o btain ed by 3 1st Au gu st pr ecedin g the commencement of the course shall be considered first.
(4)If the applicants falling in the last eligible group with the same number of points is such that the total number of applicants to be admitted exceeds the number of places established by Senate, then the applicants in that group shall be interviewed by an ad hoc A d m is si o n s B o ar d ap p o i n ted by Se n ate in o r d er t o f i ll th e remaining place/s. The ad hoc Admissions Board may consider additional qualifications to those indicated in paragraph
(1).
