- In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of the School of Performing Arts; "the course" means the programme of study leading to the degree of Bachelor in Dance Studies (Honours); "the Degree" means the degree of Bachelor in Dance Studies (Honours); and "the Principal Regulations" means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards. (1)To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall satisfy the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations. Requirements for admission. Substituted by: L.N. 212 of 2014, L.N. 169 of 2017; L.N. 182 of 2023. applicable for
(2)Applicants in possession of a qualification in Dance or D a n c e St u d i e s a w a r d e d b y a r e c o g n i s e d h i g h e r e d u c a t i o n institution, comprising not less than 60 ECTS credits classified at Level 5 on the Malta Qualifications Framework, may also be accepted into the Course. Such applicants may be admitted to Year 2 of the Course under those conditions as the Board may impose.
(3)All applicants shall be interviewed and/or auditioned by a board composed of at least three members. They will also be required to submit a completed medical fitness form, and a 250word essay on dance performance or a dance book. Applicants unable to attend the interview and dance audition in person may arrange to complete the process through electronic means of communication..
- The course shall extend over a period of three years of fulltime study or five years of part-time study when the course is offered on a part-time basis. Course duration.

- Students shall be required to register and obtain credits for study-units to which a total of 180 credits are assigned. Diploma in Dance Studies.
- Students who successfully complete the programme of study for the first year of the course to which 60 credits are assigned and opt not to proceed with the course or, having proceeded, do not successfully complete the course, shall be entitled to the Diploma in Dance Studies. Classification of the Award.
- The Final Weighted Average Mark for the classification of the Degree shall be based on the results obtained in the three years of the course, which shall be weighted as follows: First Year Average Mark 30% Second Year Average Mark 30% Third Year Average Mark 40%.
