(1)The title of these bye-laws is the Bye-Laws for the Degrees of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management (Honours) - B.KIM. (Hons) - and Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management - B.KIM - under the auspices of the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences.

(2)Citation and interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of the Faculty of Media and Knowledge Sciences; "the course" means the programme of study leading to the degree of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management (Honours) - B.KIM. (Hons) - or the degree of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management - B.KIM; "the Degree" means the degree of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management (Honours) - B.KIM. (Hons) - or the degree of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management B.KIM; and "the Principal Regulations" means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards. S.L. 327.236 2. These bye-laws shall be commencing in October 2017 or later. Applicability. Amended by: L.N. 170 of 2017. applicable for courses 3.

(1)The degree of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management (Honours) shall be awarded in terms of these byelaws in Knowledge and Information Management as the honours main area of study together with a Subsidiary area of study.

(2)The degree of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management shall be awarded in terms of these bye-laws in two ordinary main areas of study, one of which must be Knowledge and Information Management.

(3)The Board shall announce a list of areas of study that may be taken with Knowledge and Information Management in the Degree before the commencement of the course. 1. Applicants shall be required to indicate their choice of areas of study at the time of applying for admission. Requirements for admission. Substituted by: L.N. 170 of

To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall, apart from satisfying the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations, be in possession of those qualifications relevant to their chosen second ordinary main area of study as indicated in the bye-laws for the degree in the area of study offered under the auspices of the academic entity responsible for the discipline. Course duration.
4. The course shall extend over a period of three years of fulltime study. Course programme. Part One of the course.
5. The course shall consist of two parts. 8.

(1)Part One shall consist of study-units to which 60 ECTS credits are assigned.

(2)At the end of Part One of the course, students who have obtained an average mark of: (

1. a)65% or better in the Knowledge and Information Management area of study, and (
2. b)60% or better in all the study-units of Part One, shall be eligible to proceed to the degree of Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management (Honours). Part Two of the course. 9. Part Two shall consist of study-units to which 120 ECTS credits are assigned. Publication of programmes of study. 10.

(1)The Board shall publish the programmes of study in Knowledge and Information Management drawn up in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Principal Regulations and as approved by Senate, before the commencement of each course. Subject to changes that the Board may make, with the approval of Senate, students shall follow the study-units and obtain the credits a s i n di c a t e d i n t h e c ou r s e p r o g r a m m es o f st u d y a n d i n t h e programmes of study of the other areas they are following for the Degree.

(2)The programme of study for the areas of study that may be taken with Knowledge and Information Management in the course shall be those published by the Board of the academic entity responsible for the area of study. Credits. 11.

(1)Students on the Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management (Honours) course shall be required to register and obtain credit for study-units to which a total of 180 ECTS credits are assigned, of which not less than 132 ECTS credits shall be in the Knowledge and Information Management area and not less than 36 ECTS credits shall be in the subsidiary area of study.

(2)Students on the Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management course shall be required to register and obtain credit DEGREES OF BACHELOR OF KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HONOURS) - B.KIM. (Hons) -AND BACHELOR OF KNOWLEDGE AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT - B.KIM. - UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FACULTY OF MEDIA AND KNOWLEDGE SCIENCES [ S.L.327.506 3 for study-units to which a total of 180 ECTS credits are assigned, of which not less than 80 ECTS credits shall be obtained in each of the two main areas of study. 12.

(1)The Final Average Mark for the classification of the Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management (Honours) degree shall be based on the results obtained in each of the last two years of the course, which shall be weighted as follows: Second Year Average Mark 40 % Third Year Mark 60 %. Classification of the Awards.

(2)The average score of the third year shall be weighted as 30% attributed to taught study-units and 70% attributed to the dissertation and synoptic study-units. 13. The Final Average Mark for the classification of the Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management degree shall be based on the results obtained in each year of the course, which shall be weighted as follows: First Year Average Mark 25% Second Year Average Mark 25% Third Year Average Mark (excluding Synoptic Study-Units) 25% Synoptic Study-Units 25% Final Average Mark for the classification of the Bachelor of Knowledge and Information Management degree.
