C.A.D.P. - UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FACULTY FOR SOCIAL WELLBEING 21st August, 2015 LEGAL NOTICE 269 of 2015, as amended by Legal Notice 71 of 2016 132 of 2018 and 171 of 2021. 1.
(1)The title of these bye-laws is the Bye-Laws for the Higher Diploma in Community Access for Disabled People H.Dip. C.A.D.P. - under the auspices of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing.
(2)Citation and interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing; "the Board of Studies" means the Board of Studies appointed by Senate for the course, on the recommendation of the Board; "the Certificate" means the Certificate in Community Access for Disabled People - Cert. C.A.D.P.; "the course" means the programme of study leading to the Higher Diploma in Community Access for Disabled People - H.Dip. C.A.D.P.; "the Diploma" means the Diploma in Community Access for Disabled People - Dip. C.A.D.P.; and "the Higher Diploma" means the Higher Diploma in Community Access for Disabled People. 2. These bye-laws shall be commencing in October 2021 or later. applicable for courses Applicability. Amended by: L.N.132 of 2018; L.N. 171 of 2021. 3.
(1)To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall satisfy the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admission Regulations. Requirements for admission. Amended by: L.N. 71 of 2016; L.N.132 of 2018; L.N. 171 of 2021.
(2)Applicants applying for admission under paragraph (c) of regulation 6 of the Admissions Regulations shall be required to sit for an English Proficiency Test (EPT). Successful applicants shall then be called for an interview conducted by an interviewing board composed of at least three persons appointed for the purpose. Applicants are required to obtain a pass in both the English Proficiency Test (EPT) and the interview.
(3)The University Admissions Board, on the advice of the Board, may allow applicants in possession of additional qualifications and relevant experience evaluated according to the University’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy to be admitted to Year 2 of the Course under those conditions as the Board may impose. 2 [ S.L.327.518 HIGHER DIPLOMA IN COMMUNITY ACCESS FOR DISABLED PEOPLE - H.Dip.. (4)The Board shall recommend to Senate the number of applicants that may be allowed to register for the course, depending on the availability of resources. The Board shall announce the number of available places at the time of the call for applications.
(5)When the number of places is limited and the number of eligible applicants exceeds the number of places available, applicants will be selected, using the following criteria, with the weighting of each being published at the time of the call for applications: (a) academic and other qualifications; (b) experience in the area of the proposed study; and (c) performance during the interview.
(6)For the purpose of selection, applicants who fully satisfy the entry requirements by 31st August preceding the commencement of the course shall be considered first. Course duration. 4. The course shall extend over a period of three years of part-time study. Course programme. 5.
(1)The course shall consist of a number of taught studyunits to which 90 ECTS credits shall be assigned.
(2)Students who successfully complete a prescribed set of study-units totalling 30 ECTS credits and opt not to proceed with the course, or having proceeded do not successfully complete the course, shall be entitled to the Certificate.
(3)Students who successfully complete a prescribed set of study-units totalling 60 ECTS credits and opt not to proceed with the course, or having proceeded do not successfully complete the course, shall be entitled to the Diploma. Publication of programme of study. 6. The programme of study shall be published after approval by Senate, normally not less than eight months prior to the commencement of the course. Classification of the Awards. 7.
(1)The overall evaluation of each student’s performance in the Course for the purpose of the classification of the Diploma and the Higher Diploma shall be based on the results obtained, all credits awarded being weighted equally.
(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Diploma and the Higher Diploma shall be published in a list in alphabetical order classified as follows: Pass with Distinction Pass with Merit Pass.
