(1)The title of these bye-laws is the Bye-Laws for the Diploma in Maltese Literature - Dip. Malt. Lit. - under the auspices of the Faculty of Arts.
(2)Citation and interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of the Faculty of Arts; "the Board of Studies" means the Board of Studies appointed by Senate for the course, on the recommendation of the Board; "the course" means the programme of study leading to the Diploma in Maltese Literature - Dip. Malt. Lit.; and "the Diploma" means the Diploma in Maltese Literature - Dip. Malt. Lit.
- These bye-laws shall be commencing in October 2016 or later. applicable for courses Applicability.
- To be registered as regular students in the course, applicants shall, apart from satisfying the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations, be in possession of a pass at Grade C or better in Maltese at Advanced Matriculation Level or equivalent. Special course requirements for admission. 4.
(1)The Board shall recommend to Senate the number of applicants that may be allowed to register on the course, depending on the availability of resources. The number of available places shall be announced at the time of the call for applications. Number of applicants.
(2)If there are more eligible applicants than the number of places available, applicants shall be selected by means of an interview.
(3)The interviewing board appointed by the Board shall be composed of at least three members.
(4)For the purpose of selection, applicants whose qualifications as stipulated in bye-law 3 were obtained by 31 August preceding the commencement of the course shall be considered first. 5. The course shall extend over a period of four semesters of part-time study. Course duration. 6.
(1)The course shall consist of study-units to which 60 ECTS credits are assigned. Course programme.

UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FACULTY OF ARTS they obtain the 60 ECTS credits as outlined in the programme of study for the course. Publication of programme of study. 7. The programme of study shall be published after approval by Senate, normally not less than eight months prior to the commencement of the course. Classification of the Award. 8.
(1)The Final Weighted Average Mark for the purpose of the classification of the Diploma shall be based on the results obtained during the course, all credits being weighted equally.
(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Diploma shall be published in a list in alphabetical order classified as follows: Pass with Distinction Pass with Merit Pass.
