CIE - UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE EDWARD DE BONO INSTITUTE FOR THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THINKING 1st November, 2016 LEGAL NOTICE 358 of 2016. 1.

(1)The title of these bye-laws is the Bye-Laws for the Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Dip. CIE - under the auspices of The Edward de Bono Institute for the Design and Development of Thinking.
(2)Citation and interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of The Edward de Bono Institute for the Design and Development of Thinking; "the Certificate" means the Certificate in Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Cert. CIE; "the course" means the programme of study leading to the Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Dip. CIE; and "the Diploma" means the Diploma in Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship - Dip. CIE. 2. These bye-laws shall be commencing in October 2016 or later. applicable for courses 3.
(1)To be registered as regular students in the course, applicants must satisfy the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations.
(2)Applicants considered as "Adult Learners" (mature applicants) in terms of regulation 6(c) of the Admissions Regulations must be in possession of those qualifications and, or experience that would satisfy the Institute Admissions Committee that they have reached the academic standard required to follow the course with profit. Such applicants shall be required to submit with their application a letter written in English giving their motivation for applying for the course together with a copy of their Curriculum Vitae (C.V.).
(3)The eligibility of applicants referred to in paragraph
(2)of this bye-law shall be decided by the University Admissions Board, on the recommendation of the Institute Admissions Committee, following an interview conducted by an interviewing board appointed for the purpose.
(4)The interviewing board appointed by the Board shall be composed of at least three members. Applicability. CIE - UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE EDWARD DE BONO INSTITUTE FOR TYHE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF THINKING Course duration. 4. The course shall extend over a period of four semesters of part-time study. Course programme. 5.
(1)The course shall consist of a number of taught studyunits to which 60 ECTS credits shall be assigned.
(2)Students who successfully complete a prescribed set of study-units totalling 30 ECTS credits, and opt not to proceed with the course, or having proceeded do not successfully complete the course, shall be entitled to the Certificate.
(3)Students shall be eligible for the award of the Diploma if they obtain the 60 ECTS credits as outlined in the programme of study for the course.
(4)The Board shall publish the programme of study after approval by Senate, normally not less than eight months prior to the commencement of the course. Classification of the Award. 6.
(1)The Final Weighted Average Mark for the purpose of the classification of the Diploma shall be based on the results obtained during the course, all credits being weighted equally.
(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Diploma shall be published in a list in alphabetical order classified as follows: Pass with Distinction Pass with Merit Pass.
(3)The Certificate shall be awarded unclassified.
