ELT - UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE CENTRE FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE PRIFICIENCY AND THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION 7th November, 2016 LEGAL NOTICE 376 of 2016. 1.
(1)The title of these bye-laws is the Bye-laws for the Postgraduate Certificate in English Language Teaching - P.G.Cert. ELT - under the auspices of the Centre for English Language Proficiency and the Faculty of Education.
(2)Citation and interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board of Studies" means the Board of Studies appointed by Senate for the course, on the recommendations of the Boards of the Centre for English Language Proficiency and the Faculty of Education; "the course" means the programme of study leading to the Postgraduate Certificate in English Language Teaching - P.G.Cert. ELT; "the Postgraduate Certificate" means the Postgraduate Certificate in English Language Teaching - P.G.Cert. ELT; and "the Principal Regulations" means the General Regulations for University Postgraduate Awards. S.L. 327.328

- To be registered as regular students in the course, applicants must be in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Malta or from another recognised higher education institution, in an area of study deemed relevant by the Board of Studies, provided that they are also in possession of a Malta Qualifications Framework Level 4 qualification in English or an IELTS grade 7 or equivalent. (2)Students who fail in more than the number of credits permitted under paragraph
(1)of this bye-law, or students who after re-assessment fail to obtain the credits for any study-unit, shall be deemed to have failed the course. Result of the Award. 7.
(1)The Certificate shall be awarded to students who obtain all the credits indicated in bye-law 5.
(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Certificate shall be published in a list in alphabetical order.
