(1)These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws of in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, for the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Science for Education and Communication - B.Sc. (Hons) - under the auspices of the Faculty of Education.

(2)Citation and Interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - "the Board" means the Board of the Faculty of Education; "the Course" means the programme of study leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Science for Education and Communication - B.Sc. (Hons); "the Degree" means the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Science for Education and Communication - B.Sc. (Hons); and "the Principal Regulations" means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2004. 2. These bye-laws shall be applicable for courses commencing in October 2017 or later. 3. The Degree may be offered in any one of the following areas: Applicability. Areas of Specialisation. Science with specialisation in Biology Science with specialisation in Chemistry Science with specialisation in Physics. 4. To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall, apart from satisfying the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations, be in possession of the following special course requirements: (

2. b)for Science with specialisation in Biology: a pass at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Biology and a pass at Intermediate Level at Grade C or better in Chemistry; for Science with specialisation in Chemistry: a pass at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Chemistry and a pass at Intermediate Level at Grade C or better in Pure Mathematics or Physics; and Special Course Requirements for Admission. 2 BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (HONOURS) INSCIENCE FOR EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION - B.SC. 3. c)for Science with specialisation in Physics: a pass at Advanced Level at Grade C or better in Physics and a pass at Intermediate Level at Grade C or better in Pure Mathematics. [ S.L. 327.584 Course Duration. Programme of Stud.y Classification of the Award. 5. Applicants who possess a grade D when the minimum specified grade is C in only one of the required subjects, whether at Advanced or Intermediate Level, of the special course requirements indicated in bye-law 4, shall be admitted under those conditions as the Board of Studies may impose to compensate for the qualification deficiency. If, by the end of the first year, such students do not successfully complete all the requirements to progress regularly to the second year of the Course, they shall be required to withdraw from the Course, and shall neither be entitled to repeat the year nor to progress conditionally as normally permitted under the Principal Regulations. 6. The Course shall extend over a period of three years of fulltime study. 7. The Board shall publish the programme of study before the commencement of each Course. Subject to changes that the Board may, with the approval of Senate, be constrained to make, students are bound to follow the study-units and obtain the credits as indicated in the programme of study for the Degree, provided that the programme of study shall be drawn up in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Principal Regulations. 8. Students shall be required to register and pass in study-units to which a total of 180 ECTS credits are assigned. 9. The Final Weighted Average Mark for the classification of the Degree shall be based on the results obtained in each year of the Course, each of which shall be weighted equally. 10. The Degree classification shall be published according to the provisions of the Principal Regulations.
