CERTIFICATE IN SPORT ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT [ S.L. 327.623 1 SUBSIDIARY LEGISLATION 327.623 BYE-LAWS IN TERMS OF THE GENERAL REGULATIONS FOR UNIVERSITY UNDERGRADUATE AWARDS, FOR THE CERTIFICATE IN SPORT ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE INSTITUTE FOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT 2nd April, 2019 LEGAL NOTICE 54 of 2019- REPEALED BY LEGAL NOTICE 347 OF 2021. 1.
(1)These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws of in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, for the Certificate in Sport Administration and Management under the auspices of the Institute for Physical Education and Sport.
(2)Citation and Interpretation In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - “the Board” means the Board of the Institute for Physical Education and Sport; “the Certificate” means the Certificate in Sport Administration and Management; “the Course” means the programme of study leading to the Certificate in Sport Administration and Management; and “the Principal Regulations” means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2004. 2. These bye-laws shall be commencing in February 2019 or later. applicable for courses 3.
(1)To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall satisfy the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations of the University.
(2)Applicants are further required to be aged not less than 18 years within three calendar months from the commencement of the Course.
(3)Applicants admitted as “Adult Learners” under paragraph (c) of regulation 6 of the Admissions Regulations must be in possession of those qualifications and experience that would satisfy the interviewing board, through an interview, that they have reached the academic standard required to follow the Course with profit. Such applicants shall be required to submit with their application a Applicability. (4)Applicants admitted in terms of paragraph
(3)of this byelaw shall be in possession of a pass in an English language proficiency test as approved by the University before being admitted to the Course, provided that applicants in possession of a Secondary Education Certificate pass at Grade 3 or higher in English Language or a pass at the same standard in a comparable qualification, shall be exempt from this requirement.
(5)The interviewing board appointed by the Board shall be composed of at least three members.
(6)All applicants shall produce certification with regard to their prior or current involvement in Physical Education and/or Sport.
(7)Applicants who apply without the requested qualifications listed above shall not be allowed to sit for the assessments of the study-units and shall be awarded a certificate of attendance, provided that they have attended at least 80% of the lectures. Course Duration.
- The Course shall extend over a period of two semesters of part-time study. Programme of Study.
- The programme of study shall comprise study-units to which a total of 30 ECTS credits are assigned.
- Subject to changes that the Board may, with the approval of Senate, be constrained to make, students are bound to follow the study-units and obtain the credits as indicated in the programme of study for the Course.
- The programme of study shall be published after approval by Senate, normally not less than eight months prior to the commencement of the Course. Result of the Award 8.
(1)The Certificate shall be awarded to students who obtain all the credits indicated in bye-law 5
(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Certificate shall be published in a list in alphabetical order.
