(1)These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards for the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Science for Education and Communication - B.Sc. (Hons) - under the auspices of the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Science.
(2)Citation and Interpretation. In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - “the Board of Studies” means the Board of Studies appointed by Senate for the Course, on the recommendations of the Boards of the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Science; “the Course” means the programme of study leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Science for Education and Communication - B.Sc. (Hons); “the Degree” means the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Science for Education and Communication - B.Sc. (Hons); “the Diploma” means the Diploma in Science for Education and Communication; “the Higher Diploma” means the Higher Diploma in Science for Education and Communication; and “the Principal Regulations” means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards,

- To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall, apart from satisfying the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admission Regulations, be in possession of those qualifications relevant to their chosen area of specialisation as indicated in the bye-laws for the Degrees of Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science (Honours) offered under the auspices of the Faculty of Science. - The Course shall extend over a period of three years of full-time study. Programme of Study. Renumbered by: L.N. 306 of
- The Board of Studies shall publish the programme of study before the commencement of each Course, after approval by Senate. Subject to changes that the Board of Studies may, with the approval of Senate, be constrained to make, students are bound to follow the study-units and obtain the credits as indicated in the programme of study for the Degree, provided that the programme of study shall be drawn up in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Principal Regulations. (1)Students shall be required to register and pass in study-units to which a total of 180 ECTS credits are assigned.
(2)Students who successfully complete study-units to which 60 ECTS credits are assigned and opt not to proceed with the Course, or, having proceeded, do not successfully complete the Course, shall be eligible for the award of the Diploma.
(3)Students who successfully complete study-units to which 120 ECTS credits are assigned and opt not to proceed with the Course or, having proceeded, do not successfully complete the Course, shall be eligible for the award of the Higher Diploma. - The Final Weighted Average Mark for the classifications of the Degree, the Higher Diploma and the Diploma shall be based on the results obtained in each year of the Course, each of which shall be weighted equally. Repeal. Renumbered by: L.N. 306 of
- The Bye-Laws of 2017 in terms of the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2004 for the Degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Science for Education and Communication - B.Sc. (Hons) - published as Legal Notice 364 of 2017, shall be deemed to cease to be in force as from 1 October 2019, provided that students registered for this course before the 1 October 2019 shall continue to be governed by the bye-laws that BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (HONOURS) IN SCIENCE FOR EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION - B.SC.
