CERTIFICATE IN INSURANCE UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTANCY [ S.L. 327.715 1 SUBSIDIARY LEGISLATION 327.715 BYE-LAWS FOR THE CERTIFICATE IN INSURANCE UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTANCY 5th March, 2024 LEGAL NOTICE 46 of 2024. 1.

(1)These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws for the Certificate in Insurance under the auspices of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy.
(2)Citation and Interpretation In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires – “the Board” means the Board of the Faculty of Economics, Management and Accountancy; “the Board of Studies” means the Board of Studies appointed by Senate for the Course, on the recommendation of the Board; “the Course” means the programme of study leading to the Certificate in Insurance; and “the Principal Regulations” means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019. 2. These bye-laws shall be commencing in February 2024 or later. applicable for courses 3.
(1)To be registered as regular students in the Course, applicants shall satisfy the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations. Applicability Requirements for Admission
(2)Applicants considered in terms of paragraph (c) of regulation 6 of the Admissions Regulations must be in possession of those qualifications and / or experience that would satisfy the Faculty Admissions Committee that they have reached the academic standard required to follow the Course with profit. The eligibility of such applicants shall be decided by the University Admissions Board, on the recommendation of the Faculty Admissions Committee, following an interview conducted by an interviewing board appointed for the purpose. 4.
(1)The Course shall extend over a period of one year of part-time study.
(2)Eligible applicants may register as visiting students for Course Duration 2 [ S.L. 327.715 CERTIFICATE IN INSURANCE UNDER THE AUSPICES OF THE FACULTY OF ECONOMICS, MANAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTANCY individual study-units and obtain credit for them. Subject to approval by the Board, credits awarded for any such study-units may be transferred to the Course, provided that not more than seven years have elapsed from the successful completion of the study-units. When credit for more than one study-unit is being transferred to the Course, then the seven years shall commence from the date of the last credit awarded. Course Programme 5. The Course shall consist of a number of taught study-units to which 30 ECTS credits shall be assigned. 6. The programme of study shall be published after approval by Senate, normally not less than eight months prior to the commencement of the Course. Award of the Certificate 7.
(1)The Certificate shall be awarded to students who obtain all the credits indicated in bye-law 5.
(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Certificate shall be published in a list in alphabetical order.
