(1)These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws for the Postgraduate Certificate in Helping Skills in Psycho-Social Settings - P.G. Cert. - under the auspices of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing.
(2)Citation and Interpretation In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires – “the Board” means the Board of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing; “the Certificate” means the Postgraduate Certificate in Helping Skills in Psycho-Social Settings - P.G. Cert.; “the Course” means the programme of study leading to the PostgraduateCertificate in Helping Skills in Psycho-Social Settings P.G. Cert.; and “the Principal Regulations” means the General Regulations for t h e University Postgraduate Awards,
- These bye-laws shall be commencing in February 2025 or later. applicable for courses Applicability
- The Course shall be open to applicants who are working in a psycho-social setting and are in possession of a Bachelor’s degree from this University, or another higher education institution recognized by Senate, in an area deemed relevant by the Board. Requirements for Admission 4.
(1)The Course shall extend over one semester of fulltime study or the equivalent in part-time study. Course Duration
(2)Eligible applicants may register as visiting students for individual study-units and obtain credit for them. Subject to approval by the Board, credits awarded for any such study-units may be transferred to the Course, provided that not more than seven years have elapsed from the successful completion of the study-unit. When credit for more than one study-unit is being transferred to the Course, then the seven years shall commence from the date of the last credit 1 2 [ S.L. 327.751 POSTGRADUATE CERTIFICATE IN HELPING SKILLS IN PSYCHO-SOCIAL SETTINGS - P.G. The programme of study shall consist of a number of study-units to which 30 ECTS credits shall be assigned. 6. The programme of study shall be published by the Board after approval by the Senate, normally not less than eight months before the commencement of the Course. Result of the Award 7.
(1)The Certificate shall be awarded to students who obtain all the credits indicated in bye-law 5.
(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Certificate shall be published in a list in alphabetical order. Special Provision for Part-Time Courses 8. The provisions of the foregoing bye-laws shall apply mutatis mutandis to courses followed on a part-time basis, and subject to such changes as may reasonably be deemed by the Board as necessary due to the part-time nature of the Course.
