L.S. 327.756 Ordinamenti għad-Diploma in Applied Linguistics for Maltese Sign Language taħt il-patroċinju tal-Istitut tal-Lingwistika u tat-Teknoloġij

(1)These bye-laws may be cited as the Bye-Laws for the Diploma in Applied Linguistics for Maltese Sign Language under the auspices of the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology.

(2)Citation and Interpretation In these bye-laws, unless the context otherwise requires - “the Board” means the Board of the Institute of Linguistics and Language Technology; “the Certificate” means the Certificate in Applied Linguistics for Maltese Sign Language; “the Course” means the programme of study leading to the Diploma in Applied Linguistics for Maltese Sign Language; “the Diploma” means the Diploma in Applied Linguistics for Maltese Sign Language; and “the Principal Regulations” means the General Regulations for University Undergraduate Awards, 2019. 2. These bye-laws shall be commencing in October 2025 or later. applicable for courses 3.

(1)The Course shall be open to applicants who satisfy the general requirements for admission as specified in the Admissions Regulations of the University.

(2)Applicants admitted as “Adult Learners” under paragraph (c) of regulation 6 of the Admissions Regulations must satisfy the Board that they have reached the academic standard required to follow the Course with profit.

(3)All applicants shall: (

2. b)pass an admission interview conducted by an interviewing board.

(4)The interviewing board appointed by the Board shall be composed of at least three members. Course Duration

1. The Course shall extend over a period of two semesters of full-time study or the equivalent in part-time study. Programme of Study
2. The programme of study shall consist of a number of study-units to which 60 ECTS credits shall be assigned.
3. The Board shall publish the programme of study drawn up in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Principal Regulations and approved by Senate. Subject to changes that the Board may, with the approval of Senate, be constrained to make, students are bound to follow the study-units and obtain the credits as indicated in the programme of study.
4. Students who successfully complete a number of studyunits totalling not less than 30 ECTS credits and opt not to proceed with the Course, or having proceeded do not successfully complete the Course, shall be entitled to the Certificate.
5. Students shall be eligible for the award of the Diploma if they obtain the 60 ECTS credits as outlined in the programme of study for the Course. Classification of the Award 9.

(1)The Final Weighted Average Mark for the purpose of the classification of the Diploma shall be based on the results obtained during the Course, all credits being weighted equally.

(2)The names of students who qualify for the award of the Diploma shall be published in a list in alphabetical order classified as follows: Pass with Distinction Pass with Merit Pass.

(3)Special Provisions for Part-Time Courses The Certificate shall be awarded unclassified. 10. The provisions of the foregoing bye-laws shall apply mutatis mutandis to courses followed on a part-time basis, and subject to such changes as may reasonably be deemed by the Boards as necessary due to the part-time nature of the Course.
