L.S. 35.17 Regolamenti dwar Drittijiet għal Servizzi ta' Handyman

(1)The fees specified in the second column of the Schedule shall be payable to the Director General (Social and Family Affairs) by elderly persons who have not passed the means test as provided in Part III of the Second Schedule to the Social Security Act, hereinafter in these regulations referred to as "the means test", and by disabled persons who are not registered as such and who do not possess a special identity card issued by the National Commission for Disabled Persons, in respect of the services of a handyman specified in the first column of the same Schedule. Fees.

(2)The Director General (Social and Family Affairs) shall transfer all funds accumulated from the collection of fees as specified in the second column of the Schedule to the Welfare Committee established by article 130 of the Social Security Act. Cap. 318. Cap. 318.

(3)The persons mentioned in sub-regulation

(1)who satisfy the means test shall be exempt from the provisions of the said subregulation. 3. The Director General (Social and Family Affairs) shall provide the handyman service without charge to the following persons: (

1. a)persons who have passed the means test and who at the same time are pensioners by reason of their having reached the age of sixty years, and preference shall be given to such persons who are very elderly and who live on their own; and (
2. b)persons who are registered as disabled persons and who have a special identity card issued by the National Commission for Disabled Persons, and who live on their own: Provided that the said Director General may, if he is satisfied with the circumstances of the case, provide the same services without charge to the persons mentioned in this paragraph who, although not living on their own, do not have any other person living with them in the same residence who is able to render such a service.
