  2. The title of these regulations is the Presidents of the Regions, Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Local Councillors and Presidents of the Associations’ Allowances Regulations. Citation.
  3. requires: In these regulations, unless the context otherwise Interpretation. "the Act" means the Local Government Act; Cap.
  4. "allowance" means the allowance provided for in article 32

(2)of the Act; "Association" shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the Act; "councillor" shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the Act; "Deputy Mayor" shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the Act; "Mayor" shall have the same meaning assigned it in the Act; "Members elected on the general list" shall have the same meaning assigned to it in the Local Councils (Association) Regulations;   S.L. 363.
  1. "President of the Association" means the office provided for in regulation 14 of the Local Councils (Association) Regulations;   S.L. 363.

  4. The allowance paid to the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and councillors shall be of three thousand and four hundred euro (€3,400) expense allowance per annum. In addition, the Deputy Mayor shall be given an additional one thousand euro (€1,000) to reflect his office.   6. The allowance paid to a President of the Region shall be equivalent to ninety per cent (90%) of the honorarium of a member of the House and to an additional one thousand euro (€1,000). Chairman of the Association’s allowance. Renumbered by: L.N. 277 of 2019. Substituted by: L.N. 109 of
  8. The allowance paid to the Chairman of the Association shall be equivalent to ninety per cent (90%) of the honorarium of a member of the House and to an additional one thousand euro (€1,000).
