(1)The title of these regulations is the Certificate of Hybrid Breeding Pigs, their Semen, Ova and Embryos Regulations. Title and scope.

(2)The scope of these regulations is to implement the provisions found under European Union Commission Decision 89/ 506/EEC laying down the certificate of hybrid breeding pigs, their semen, ova and embryos which in turn finds its legal basis in articles 9 and 10(e) of European Union Council Directive 88/661/ EEC. 2.

(1)The following particulars shall be mentioned in the certificate of hybrid breeding pigs: Certificate of hybrid breeding pigs. (

1. a)issuing body; (
2. b)entry number in register; (
3. c)date of issue; (
4. d)system of identification; (
5. e)identification; (
6. f)date of birth; (
7. g)genetic type, line; (
8. h)sex; (
9. i)name and address of breeder; (
10. j)name and address of owner.

(2)For the purpose of these regulations "trading partner" in the meaning of article 2 of the Veterinary Services Act shall mean (

1. a)a Member State of the European Community; (
2. b)a Third country to the European Community. 3.

(1)The particulars provided for in regulation 2 may be indicated (

1. a)in the form of a certificate conforming to the specimen in Schedule I; (
2. b)in documentation accompanying the hybrid breeding pig. In this event the competent authorities must certify that the particulars set out in regulation 2 are indicated in those documents, by the following *These Regulations have been repealed by Legal Notice 11 of 2024. (2)The data on hybrid breeding pigs of the same lineage may be given in a single certificate or in the documentation accompanying a consignment of animals of the same origin and for the same destination. The model certificate shown in Schedule I shall be adapted accordingly. Certificate of semen of hybrid breeding pigs. 4. The following particulars must be mentioned in the certificate of the semen of hybrid breeding pigs (

1. a)all data as listed in regulation 2 concerning the male that provides the semen; (
2. b)information allowing identification of the semen, the date of its collection and the names and addresses of the semen collection centre and of the consignee. Particulars of certificate in regulation 4. 5. The particulars provided for in regulation 4 may be indicated (
3. a)in the form of a certificate conforming to the specimen in Schedule II; (
4. b)in documentation accompanying the semen of the hybrid breeding pig. In this event the competent authorities must certify that the particulars set out in regulation 4 are indicated in those documents, by the following formula: "The undersigned certifies that these documents contain the particulars mentioned in article 3 of European Union Commission Decision 89/506/ EEC". Certificate of the ova of hybrid breeding pigs. 6. The following particulars must be mentioned in the certificate of the ova of hybrid breeding pigs: (
5. a)all data as listed in regulation 2 concerning the sow that provides the ovum; (
6. b)information allowing identification of the semen, the date of its collection and the names and addresses of the semen collection centre and of the consignee. If there is more than one ovum in a single straw this must be clearly stated and furthermore the ova must all have the same parentage. Particulars of certificate in regulation 6. 7. The particulars provided for in regulation 6 may be indicated: (
7. a)in the form of a certificate conforming to the specimen in Schedule III; (
8. b)in documentation accompanying the ova of the hybrid breeding pig. The following particulars must be mentioned in the certificate of the embryos of hybrid breeding pigs: Certificate of embryos of hybrid breeding pigs. (
9. a)all data as listed in regulation 2 concerning the donor sow and fertilising; (
10. b)information allowing identification of the embryos, date of insemination or fecundation, date of collection and the names and addresses of the embryo collection centre and of the consignee. If there is more than one embryo in a single straw this must be clearly stated and furthermore the embryos must all have the same parentage. 9. The particulars provided for in regulation 8 may be indicated: (
11. a)in the form of a certificate conforming to the specimen in Schedule IV; (
12. b)in documentation accompanying the embryos of the hybrid breeding pig. In this event the competent authorities must certify that the particulars set out in regulation 8 are indicated in those documents, by the following formula: "The undersigned certifies that these documents contain the particulars mentioned in article 7 European Union Commission Decision 89/506/ EEC".
