- TARIFF OF FEES PAYABLE TO MEDICAL PRACTITIONERS When the practitioner is called on board a ship lying in one of the harbours or bays of these islands, to the fees mentioned in this tariff and exclusive of boat expenses there shall be added between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. When the practitioner lives out of the place bordering on the harbour or bay in which the ship is lying, besides the rate fixed in the preceding paragraph, the rates fixed in paragraph 35 shall be chargeable for the distance between the practitioners’ place of residence and the quay or shore of the harbour or bay where the ship is lying. When the practitioner is called to a ship lying out of a harbour or bay in these Islands, besides the travelling expenses by land and sea and the other fees and charges under this tariff, there shall be chargeable also a fee of .......................... For visits of two or more members of one family living in the same house half the fees established under paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 shall be charged in regard to each member beyond the first. The rates as established by this tariff are binding only whenever there has been no previous agreement between practitioner and patient. In those cases in which minimum and maximum rates are established, if the amount asked by the practitioner be challenged, the fee shall be fixed by the Medical Council who will take in consideration all the circumstances of the case. The fees for operations and other services not included in this tariff shall be assessed by the Medical Council according to circumstances, provided there has been no previous agreement.
