[ S.L. 465.72 TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 1 SUBSIDIARY LEGISLATION 465.72 TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS ORDER* 9th May 2022 LEGAL NOTICE 134 of 2022,as amended by Legal Notice 152 of 2022. 1. The title of this order is the Travel Requirements Order. 2.
(1)Any person who travels from any country to Malta, whether by air or by sea, shall, upon arrival in Malta, be required to present: (
- a)Citation. Travel requirements. a certificate of vaccination against COVID-19; or (
- b)a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test performed not more than seventy-two
(72)hours prior to arrival in Malta; or (c) a negative COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RAT) performed not more than twenty-four
(24)hours prior to arrival in Malta; or (d) a certificate of recovery from COVID-19 valid for not more than one hundred and eighty
(180)days after the date of the first positive Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) COVID19 test result: Provided that the Superintendent of Public Health may also, by means of standards, indicate other documents, apart from those mentioned in sub-article
(1), considered acceptable for travel from any country to Malta.
(2)Any person who travels from any country to Malta without adhering with one of the travel requirements specified in paragraphs (a) to (d) of sub-article
(1)shall, upon arrival in Malta, be required to submit himself to a period of quarantine of ten
(10)days: Provided that the quarantine period shall terminate on the seventh
(7)day of quarantine if, on the seventh
(7)day of quarantine, the person so quarantined undergoes a COVID-19 test that results in a negative test result. 3.
(1)The provisions of this order shall not apply to children under the age of twelve
(12)years travelling from any country to Malta.
(2)The provisions of this order shall also not apply to any person travelling from any country to Malta: *This order has been repealed by Legal Notice 211 of 2022. Exemptions. Amended by: L.N. 152 of 2022. 2 [ S.L. 465.72 TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS (
- a)on cargo flights, ferry flights, humanitarian flights and repatriation flights; or (
- b)on cargo ships, including container ships or ro-ro vessels, carrying goods and essential commodities, or on tankers loaded with essential fuels.
(3)The Superintendent of Public Health may provide for further exemptions from the provisions of this order, by notice in the Gazette or by protocols issued for this purpose, where, in the opinion of the Superintendent of Public Health, the travel of certain persons or goods or for certain services, is deemed to be necessary or essential. - The Period of Quarantine Order and the Travel Ban (Extension to All Countries) Order are hereby repealed: S.L. 465.

- Provided that the Period of Quarantine Order and the Travel Ban (Extension to All Countries) Order shall be deemed to be still in force, even after the coming into force of this order, for the purposes of any act, decision, action or proceedings taken in respect of any breach of the same orders.
