2. The title of these Regulations is Elections for the Hospital Management Committee Regulations. Title.
3. In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires - Interpretation. "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Hospital Management Committee; "the Commission" means the Hospital Management Committee Elections Commission established by regulation 3 of these Regulations. "Committee" means the Hospital Management Committee; "hospital" means St Luke’s Hospital.
4. In January of every year, the Committee shall appoint a Commission, composed of three election commissioners, to conduct elections to the Committee during that year. Hospital management Committee elections Commission.
5. When the Commission is informed by the Chairman that a vacancy has occurred or is about to occur at an early date amongst the elected members of the Committee, it shall, as soon as may be, cause a notice to be published in the Gazette specifying the place, days and times during which nominations of candidates for election to the Committee will be received by the Commission. 6. A candidate shall be nominated in writing on a form in accordance with the specimen contained in the First Schedule. Nominations.
7. If the nominations received exceed the number of vacancies on the Committee an election shall be held. The Commission shall then, as soon as may be, publish a notice in the Government Gazette specifying the place, the days and times during which the election shall be held and the names of the candidates seeking election. 8. The ballot paper to be used for the purpose of the election shall be in accordance with the specimen contained in the Second Schedule, and shall be initialled by a member of the Commission. Ballot papers.
9. The appropriate ballot paper shall be delivered to voters personally by one of the election commissioners in the room in which the ballot booth is placed, and in no case shall any person be permitted to take any ballot paper out of such room nor shall any ballot paper be taken out of the sight of the election commissioner until it is dropped in the ballot box. 13. As soon as may be after the end of the voting, the Commission shall count the votes cast. Invalid votes.
14. When a larger number of votes than is required is registered on the ballot paper, the ballot paper shall be declared invalid by the Commission. Elected candidates.

16. If two or more candidates obtain an equal number of votes a partial election amongst those candidates shall be held in accordance with the provisions of regulations 6 to

18. The Commission shall forthwith report the result of the election to the Chairman who shall forward it to the Minister responsible for Health for publication in the Gazette.
